UHS MDCAT Admission Test Result 2018
University of Health Sciences Lahore has the mandate to manage the admission in the medical and dental colleges across Punjab and it conducts the admission test of the candidates to know the eligible candidates, who can get admission in the medical colleges and start their medical education. There are over 65,000 students, who appeared in the UHS Medical and Dental College Admission Test (MDCAT) and this test was conducted in 13 cities of Punjab including Lahore, Faisalabad, Sargodha, Multan, Sahiwal, DG Khan, Gujranwala, Gujrat, Sialkot, Rawalpindi, Hassan Abdal, Rahim Yar Khan and Bahawalpur. The MDCAT test was conducted on 20 August and the test centers were provided with various facilities like generator, police security and fire brigade.
The VC of UHS monitored the different centers, where the students were present to appear in the test. The test was managed under the surveillance of the closed circuit cameras and there were about 5500 invigilators appointed for the supervision of the test and the big centers were equipped with mobile phone jammers and walkthrough gates.
The special arrangements were made for the disabled candidates and the facilities were also provided to the parents with proper parking and waiting areas. The government officers and the senior bureaucrats monitored the test on the direction of chief minister.
There are total 5995 MBBS and 771 BDS seats in the public and private sector medical and dental colleges to undertake the MDCAT. The seats are allocated as follow:
• 3405 MBBS seats are reserved in medical colleges of Punjab in public sector
• 216 BDS seats are reserved in dental colleges of Punjab in public sector
• 2590 MBBS seats are reserved in medical colleges in private sector, which are affiliated with UHS
• 555 BDS seats are reserved in nine dental colleges in private sector, which are affiliated with UHS.
The students, who obtain at least 84% marks in the MDCAT test, will be eligible to apply to get admission in the medical and dental colleges on the basis of merit. The marks will be calculated on the basis of criterion, which is formulated by Pakistan Medical and Dental Council (PMDC). The candidates can send their application forms for grant of admission in the colleges from 04 October to 14 October and the first selection list for the medical and dental colleges will be displayed on 30 October and the classes will be started from 13 November.
